Concept & Fine Art Print Information
Oslo Art Prints artworks are sold as Limited Editions DGA (Digital Graphic Artwork) and are signed with a digital signature and come with a digitally signed and numbered Certificate of Authenticity and once all Editions are sold no more copies will be printed. All artworks were created by Douglas Carr through the use of camera techniques he has developed over time and minor improvements are made in editing to create a final masterpiece and are were not created using Ai!!
Oslo Art Prints are printed on the highest quality museum grade fine art Giclee paper, the Hahnemühle Photorag. With a super matt finish, the paper allows for muted blacks, excellent detail and an even colour reproduction. With its chalky smooth cotton base, texture is minimal which creates brilliant colour gradients.

Oslo Art Prints sells only unframed prints in 4:3 or 16:9 crop ratios, each featuring a white border for direct framing or use with a mat and UV-protected glass to enhance longevity and presentation. Any images with frames on the website are for illustration purposes only, and all pieces are shipped in a cardboard envelope or tube depending on size.

Print sizes vary depending on the artwork and Douglas Carr's creative vision.

Framing Suggestions
Oslo Art Prints sells only prints at this stage. All framed images shown on this website are for illustration purposes only and are intended to help you visualise how the artwork might look in a home or gallery setting.
To make framing easier and more cost-effective, Oslo Art Prints has carefully selected print sizes that align with commonly available, ready-made frame dimensions — such as our standard 30×40 cm print size. This allows you to frame your artwork without the additional expense of custom framing.
All prints include a narrow white border surrounding the image. This not only allows room for the digital signature and edition number but also means you can place the print directly into a matching-size frame without needing to trim or mat it.
For a more refined, gallery-style presentation, we recommend:
-
Choosing a frame at least one size larger than the print
-
Adding a mat (also known as a passe-partout) to give the image more visual breathing space and prevent the artwork from pressing directly against the glass
While this improves aesthetics, it also serves a conservation purpose by helping protect the print over time.
We also strongly recommend using UV-protective, anti-reflective glass when framing. This enhances visual clarity while significantly extending the life of your print.
According to Wilhelm Imaging Research, prints made on Hahnemühle Photo Rag paper — the same archival paper used by Oslo Art Prints — have excellent longevity ratings:
-
31 years when unframed
-
60 years behind standard glass
-
Up to 115 years behind UV-protective glass, under typical indoor conditions (excluding direct sunlight)
For the best possible protection and presentation, we recommend having your print professionally framed. A qualified framer can guide you in choosing the right materials to ensure your artwork remains vibrant and protected for decades to come.
